A very fascinating event took place in the Central City Library in Mukachevo. Representatives of the Canadian charitable foundation, the "Ukrainian Jewish Encounter", ("Ukrainian-Jewish meeting") came to visit us and expand the borders of our cooperation. Within the framework of the meeting, there was a presentation of the books "Jews and Ukrainians: Millennia of Coexistence" and "Babi Yar", the author and editor-in-chief of both of which is Pavlo-Robert Magochy (Head of the Department of Ukrainian Studies at the University of Toronto).

The book "Jews and Ukrainians: Millennia of Coexistence" present an opportunity to fain a better understanding of the controversial issues concerning Ukrainian-Jewish relations and makes it possible to see that the historical experience of ethnic peoples in Ukraine not only divides them, but can also unite them.

The book "Babi Yar" was published simultaneously with a series of events dedicated to the memory of the 75th anniversary of the massacre perpetrated by Nazi Germany. A group of world-renowned scholars are discussed the policy of remembrance of Babi Yar in the fields of culture, music, and art from the Soviet era to the present. This publication brought together political scientists in agreement regarding the importance of preserving the memory of Babi Yar as a symbol of the Holocaust and other tragedies of the twentieth century.

This meeting piqued the interest of numerous people who, during the presentation, asked questions of interest to the speakers. Everyone could buy books, and there were many of them. Charitable organizations and foundations received such books as a gift from representatives of "UJE". An autograph session was also held.

We are grateful to the "UJE" foundation and its representatives for their literary works. You need to know the history of your people and honor the memory of the events of the past, because only then can we build a better present and future.
